Deputy Governor Kingsley Burutu Otuaro of Delta State Saturday emphasized that the greatness of the state would be achieved as the people marked the 30th anniversary of the creation of Delta State last Friday.
the deputy governor in a broadcast on his facebook page declared: “yesterday we celebrated Delta at 30, acknowledging the benevolence of God and the selfless works of our founding fathers in bringing us thus far as one unified State.

“On the eve of the celebration, I represented His Excellency, the Executive Governor of Delta, Senator (Dr) Arthur Ifeanyi, at the youth variety night, where I witnessed first-hand the talents and ingenuity of Delta State youth which is well-spoken across the nation and beyond most especially in the music, entertainment, and sports industry.

“I joined the youth in their art and charged them to stay resilient, have faith in God and themselves, ultimately keep at what they are doing as talent remains one of the most lucrative ventures in the world when productively engaged.

“I also let them know of much the Okowa led government is doing in terms of prioritizing the creative industry, a major mark of which is the ongoing mega Film Village and Resort in Asaba.”

The deputy governor noted that the award and Dinner which was held in the evening of the 30th Anniversary in celebrating the titan spirit of Amazing Deltans across different spheres was a most memorable event. It was disclosed that founders, captains of industries, Bankers, veteran journalists, diplomats, elder statesmen, legendary educators, entertainers and sportsmen, and women were once again proud of their Delta heritage as the encomium poured in. These individuals were all honored for keeping the flag proven that indeed Delta is the big heart.

The deputy governor further disclosed that earlier on Saturday, he joined a cross-section of over 500 youth in another session in public discourse in Warri on the subject of entrepreneurship and inclusive youth participation in governance and politics. He stated that there is something about Delta youth that makes them unique. “Once and again, I saw the passion and talents in these young people listening to their stories, accomplishing extraordinary feats amidst very tight economic and social conditions in entertainment and business, the deputy governor observed.

He added that they also expressed their frustration for lack of support.

“I also shared my story noting that nothing is impossible for anyone determined to achieve greatness.

“I narrated how I navigated the difficult riverine terrain by getting involved in leadership and pursuing public and humanitarian services; among others which contributed to my success today.

“I shared in their ordeal of lack of support and encouraged them not to shy away from politics, rather be part and parcel of what the government is doing, especially, by looking for opportunities from government programs and intervention citing how STEP, YAGEP, GEST, and RYSA is transforming the lives of hundreds of youths in the State, raising them from job seekers to employers of labor, addressing the sore employment gap,” he highlighted.

The deputy governor maitnaineed that he made them understand that every one of us has God-given potentials for greatness and further added that life is like an enterprise/business and how much we maximize it depends on our readiness to discover the unseated potentials of God in us, process the gifts and commercialize them to create social impact and economic value – that is what makes life a most rewarding experience.

The deputy governor saluted the organizers of the event, Aspire Global Conference (AGC2021), especially, the dexterity of the team leader, Mr. Wisdom Oghoghovwia, for envisioning such an impactful event which is in its 4th season.

He noted observing the yearnings of the young leaders and entrepreneurs for a bigger occasion and more interaction. “I promise them opportunities such as this will be soon become a routine activity to ensure the strength of the youth meets with the wisdom of the elders especially for repositioning Warri to truly represent its position as the economic nerve center of the State and I expressed my optimism that with the major flood control and storm protection works been carried out by His Excellency, in addition to strict environmental law enforcement, the perennial flooding issues in the Warri metropolis will become a thing of the past, unveiling the Warri of our dream,” Otuaro narrated.

He expressed absolute confidence, the greatness of Delta will be realized, stating: “and certainly, we are on the right path.
“This is my Delta at 30 stories.
