DHQ reveals why terrorist leaders are yet to be declared wanted
The Defence Headquarters has explained steps its taking to declare leaders of Boko Haram and Islamic State of West Africa Province wanted.
The Senate on February 21, 2022, called on the federal government to declare all known leaders of terrorists wanted.
Director, Defence Media Operations, Major General Benard Onyeuko, said the process is being reviewed.
“We are working on it.. Some of them are being taken out. Very soon, you will see new posters.”
He also said the military would step up its operations to prevent use of IEDs.
“We are aware that IEDs are being used; this is not the first time. We are on top of it.”
Nigeria has witnessed an upward spiral in terrorists’ violence especially in the northwest lately.
