Edo 2020: We stand by democracy in Edo – Obaseki
Incumbent Governor Godwin Obaseki of Edo State has restated his commitment, including the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), to democracy in the state. The governor assured the people of the State that the battle to eradicate godfather in Edo State is total. He noted that the local godfather in the state has been defeated, adding that the main godfather is already fretting. He stated that democracy is the peoples government not government of the godfather.
Governor Obaseki in a tweet on his official handle @GovernorObaseki wrote: “democracy is govt of the people, by the people and for the people, not govt by godfathers.
“We have defeated the local godfather in Edo State and the main godfather has become jittery. But we are determined to end godfatherism in Nigeria.”
