El Kabir: Police on red alert in Delta, deploy 2,153 officers on security patrol
The Nigeria Police have placed officers on red alert in Delta State during the El Kabir celebration by Muslims around the world. The Delta State Police Command, accordingly, drafted 2,253 officers across the 23 local government areas of the State.
The Commissioner of Police of the Delta State Command, Ari Mohammed, disclosed that the officers have been instructed to guarantee security at all Muslim praying grounds and other strategic locations during the Eid-el Kabir prayers and celebration in the state.
The Commissioner of Police disclosed that all Area Commanders and Divisional Police Officers have been directed to intensify raids on criminal hideouts and black spots within their command areas.
It was highlighted that the directive followed intelligence gathering of possible attacks by suspected hoodlums and cultists roaming about to make the state ungovernable.
While wishing the entire Muslims a hitch free and Happy Eid-el Kabir celebration, the CP Ari Mohammed reaffirmed that the command will continue to build more records of successes in curbing crime.
