#EndSARS: Nigeria berates Canada for declaring COVID protesting truckers terrorists
The Federal Government on Sunday berated Canada for declaring coronavirus protesting truck drivers terrorists, while Western countries slammed the Nigerian government for descending on #EndSARS protesters in in 2020. The Nigerian government accused the West of double standards in handling issues of protesters across the globe.
The Minister of Information and Culture, Lai Mohammed, in a statement on Sunday, protested why the Truckers Protest Rocking Canada has been widely condemned by the authorities in Canada which have even gone a step further to declare the protesters as Terrorists but was quick to take a swipe at the federal government’s intervention in addressing the 2020 #EndSARS protests in Nigeria.
Lai Mohammed, though, noting that the Nigerian government is not happy with the current developments in Canada,
emphasized that the government, however, “wants the world to see the hypocrisy displayed by the West against Nigeria.”
The Minister indicated that the federal government would continue to defend the territorial integrity of the country against external forces, adding that only a peaceful and secured country can yield good dividends to the Citizens.
