Ex-boxer allegedly beats his wife into coma over TV Remote
A 56-year-old ex-middleweight boxer and truck driver, identified has Moses Olapade, reportedly punched his wife, Tinuke, to a coma while they were arguing over a television remote in Oke-Aro Community in Akure, Ondo State.
It is reported that Olapade had wanted to watch a programme on the television but his wife refused to hand him the remote to tune in to his preferred channel, hence the argument that led Olapade to throw punches on the wife which sent her into a coma.
A source noted that Tinuke was taken to a nearby hospital, where she was resuscitated, while matter was reported to the community leaders who called on men of the Nigeria Police Force and the truck driver was arrested.
The Police Public Relations Officer in the state, DSP Tee-Leo Ikoro, confirmed the incident.
