Ex-Science Minister Uche Nnaji arrested at Enugu Airport, set for ICPC interrogation

Sources familiar with the development said Nnaji was taken into custody on Wednesday at the airport by security operatives.

According to the sources, the former minister is expected to be handed over to the Independent Corrupt Practices and Other Related Offences Commission (ICPC) for further interrogation.
The arrest is said to be linked to an ongoing investigation by the anti-corruption agency, which has reportedly been tracking Nnaji since his resignation from office last year.
Investigators are said to have uncovered alleged evidence indicating that the former minister forged his academic certificates, prompting the ICPC to intensify its probe.
As of the time of filing this report, neither the ICPC nor Nnaji had issued an official statement regarding the arrest or the allegations.
