Father raises alarm over son’s threat to Kill Him – Police intervene, recover Dane gun
The IMASAYI Divisional Police Officer has commenced an investigation into an incident that occurred on February 24, 2025, at about 11:45 AM, where a father reported that his son had threatened to kill him with a Dane gun.
A father Mr. Falola Fatai, and the complainant a resident of Alagbada area, Imasayi, Yewa North Local Government Area, reported at the Imasayi Divisional Police Headquarters that his son, Falola Noheem (39 years old), confronted him on his farm at Iyana Agbasa, Imasayi, wielding a Dane gun and issuing threats to end his life.
Fearing for his safety, he immediately fled the farm and sought police assistance.
Immediately receiving the report, the Divisional Police Officer (DPO) of Imasayi Division swiftly mobilized officers to locate and apprehend the suspect.
During interrogation, the suspect confessed to possessing the Dane gun and led officers to the farm where it was hidden.
The firearm has since been recovered as an exhibit.
Preliminary investigations revealed that the suspect is a known drug addict, which may have influenced his violent behavior.
The Ogun State Police Command has commenced a full investigation into the matter, and where necessary possible support and advice will follow after the end of preliminary investigation.
The Command reiterates its commitment to ensuring the safety of all residents and urges the public to remain vigilant and report any suspicious or criminal activities to the police for prompt intervention.
