Femi Kuti opens up on brother’s travails with Police
Grammy-nominated afrobeat artiste, Femi Kuti, has said his younger brother, Seun Kuti was supposed to be on tour currently but was detained days before he started.
Femi stated this on Friday at one of his tours in France.
He, however, said the Kuti family was solidly behind Seun, adding that they are expecting positive results soon.
He said his case was being handled by “one of the best lawyers.”

Femi said, “Just before we embark on this tour, my brother Seun got arrested. Unfortunately, I can’t talk about it because it’s in court…But I want you all to know that we have one of the best lawyers. The family is solidly behind him (Seun Kuti) and we do hope for a positive result at the end of the day. He is supposed to be on tour. And then the bail was granted but they extended the detention.”
He added that he is doing all within his power to make sure Seun is released soon.
Seun Kuti was arrested and detained after he was captured assaulting a uniformed police officer in a viral video.
