Final year BIU student reportedly dead due to medical negligence

Bruno Chigozie, a 400-level Computer Science student of Benson Idahosa University, Edo State has passed on.

It is reported that he died on May 22nd, 2023. A source reports, “Bruno collapsed yesterday during the Uniform Day program in school & he was rushed to the school’s medical center & there was no equipment to treat him. The medical personnel left him in the ambulance for over 2 hours.

So, some students offered to drive him to a general hospital & the security personnel at the campus gate refused to grant them exit urging them to go get permit to be able to leave school to save Bruno’s life. The students’ continuous pleas fell on deaf ears until Bruno died in the ambulance.

The students have embarked on a protest in the school’s premises to demand answers. This isn’t the first time a student is dying as a result of negligence. It occurs very year in the school. May Bruno’s soul rest in peace.”
