Fleeing ex-Gov. Obiano remains in EFCC custody for N17bn corruption allegation
After living eight years in the lap of luxury inside the government house, former Anambra Gov. Willie Obiano just spent his very first night inside the austere cage of the EFCC, and there is no information on how long the agency intends to hold him there.
Obiano handed over to Gov Charles Soludo Thursday, and headed straight for the international airport in Lagos to jet back to his US base.
Placing him on the no-fly list last November, the EFCC, arrested him as he was about to board.
Months ago, Obiano denied any wrong doig when details of his mismanagement of the Paris Club Refund and others, running to N17 billion, surfaced.
