Force headquarters gives update on panel report
The Force headquarters has issued a statement following widespread reports on August17 that IGP Baba Usman rejected the initial report, and received the final one from the panel investigating suspended DCP Abba Kyari
The Nigerian Police Force on Tuesday has dismissed those reports as speculative, urging Nigerians to disregard them.
Reacting on Tuesday, DCP Frank Mba, FPRO said, “The Nigeria Police Force wishes to inform the general public that the probe into the alleged indictment of DCP Abba Kyari by the FBI, being conducted by the NPF Special Investigation Panel (SIP), is still ongoing.
“The Force hereby reassures the public that the outcome of investigations by the probe panel would be communicated accordingly upon conclusion of the investigations,” the statement said.
Kyari allegedly received money to detain a criminal who was about to inform a Qatari cyberfraud victim of a scheme a UAE mastermind Abbas Ramon aka Hushpuppi was coordinating in 2020, according to the FBI.
Kyari has denied this as FBI declared him wanted in America.
