Former Senator, DIG Nuhu, Aliyu dies after brief illness
A former Nigerian Senator, retired Deputy Inspector General of Police Nuhu Aliyu has been declared dead on Wednesday.
The former senator, Aliyu, who represented a senatorial district in Niger State, was said to have died of a brief illness at a yet to be disclosed hospital in the early hours of Wednesday.
DIG Nuhu Aliyu was one of the founding fathers of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in Niger State. He fought vigorously against the third term constitutional amendment plot in the National Assembly during the Obasanjo administration.
