FRSC issues red alert, says Lagos- Ibadan expressway now most dangerous
The Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC) has issued red alert on the Lagos-Ibadan Expressway, warning that the route has become most dangerous to trailers.
The Ogun State FRSC Commander, Umar Ahmed, cautioned that the Lagos-Ibadan expressway is now one of the most dangerous roads along the Ogun corridor, with the highest incident of vehicle accidents.
Ahmed noted that about 53 percent of the road accident has been recorded on the corridor between January and October 2022.
He disclosed that 996 Road Traffic accidents occurred between January to October 2021 compared to 793 Road Crashes in 2022, with a fatality figure of 310 deaths in 2021 and 301 deaths in 2022.
