Gombe 2023: Ex-commissioner, others dump APC
Mass defection is currently rocking the Gombe state chapter of the All Progressives Congress, (APC) as a former commissioner in the APC led state government Mr Kedengs Dan Zaria defected to the opposition People’s Democratic Party (PDP), former Gombe local government council chairman, Saidu Sambo, former chairman councillors forum, Sani Abubakar Banki, and several other officials of the party from wards to local government levels have resigned their membership of the APC.
In their separate letters to their respective wards chairmen, Sambo and Banki stated that their resignation followed a wide consultations with their families, friends and associates.
Also, a former member of the state assembly representating Gombe north constituency resigned from the party.
Another stalwarts Alhaji Aliyu Umar (DG), Alhaji Sulaiman Jalo, Alhaji Auwal Hassan Chibros, Haruna Ahmed Company, Buhari Dankwambo also resigned from the party.
Similarly Alhaji Ibrahim Adamu Muhammad, Alhaji Yakubu Abdullahi Yusuf, Comrade Suhailu M Abubakar and Baba Sani Sakali, former state youth leader announced their resignations yesterday.
Abbakar Bakari and Dambayo Umar Yau, former Ex-officio (ll) and Ex-officio (lll) in a letter addressed to Bajoga ward APC Chairman, said they took the decision together with their families and supporters.
In a phone interview with our correspondent, the former commissioner Mr Kedengs Dan Zaria said his defection to the PDP is to enable him contribute his quota to the development of the state alleging that he was not longer getting enabling environment to do so in his former party.
