Governor Akeredolu bags Gold Cup Platinum Award

The Executive Governor of Ondo State, His Excellency Rotimi Akeredolu, will be honoured with the Gold Cup Tourney Platinum Award on Saturday November 24, 2018 at the Ondo State Sports Complex, Akure.

General Coordinator of Pre-season mini-league, Tunde Shamsudeen said: “In recognition of Governor Akeredolu drive to empower youths in his state via sports, we have deemed it fit to honour him.

“The essence is geared to spur His Excellency on to do more for sports especially football.”

Also, Dr Buhari Abdul-Fatai (BAF), a Distinguished Senator of Federal Republic of Nigeria; representing Oyo North, has been named the Grand Patron of the best organised pre-season mini-league and he will be given an award for his unflinching support for the Gold Cup.

“It would have been an understatement not to name Senator Buhari as our Grand Patron looking at his contributions towards the success of the Gold Cup Tourney.

“BAF, without taking anything away from other personalities has been our major sponsor. So it’s deserving we honour the former Crown FC of Ogbomoso boss.”

Former Secretary General of the Nigeria Football Federation (NFF), Chief Taiwo Ogunjobi, Technical Committee Chairman NFF, Ahmed Yusuf Fresh, Chief Executive Officer of Bet9ja, Hon. Kunle Soname and President of FC Ebedei, Barrister, Churchill Oliseh were named Patrons of the Gold Cup Tourney.

Meanwhile, Meritious Gold Award will be presented to Barrister Seyi Akinwummi, first Vice President Nigeria Football Federation (NFF), Shehu Dikko, Chairman, League Management Company (LMC), Chidi Offor, Independent Chairman

Nigeria National League (NNL), Alhaji Mohammed Akali, Independent Chairman Nationwide League One (NLO) and Olusola Ogunowo, Chief Operating Officer, Nationwide League One (NLO) for their laudable contributions towards the development of the domestics leagues in Nigeria.
