Gulf American University awards Doctorate to Max Amuchie for humanitarian contributions
Dr. Max Amuchie, Founder and CEO of Sundiata Post Media Ltd, has been conferred with an Honorary Doctorate of Science by Gulf American University (GAU) in Dubai, United Arab Emirates.
The prestigious award recognizes his exceptional contributions to knowledge, humanitarian service, and community development.
The honor follows a comprehensive year-long evaluation by GAU, culminating in Amuchie’s successful appearance before the university’s Honorary Award Interview Panel on December 23, 2024.
During the session, Amuchie highlighted his passion for humanitarian work, particularly his achievements as President of the Rotary Club of Abuja CBD during the 2022-2023 Rotary Year.
Under his leadership, the Rotary Club addressed critical sanitation issues in Central Primary School, Gidan Gimba, Nasarawa State, by constructing three modern toilets for students and staff, effectively ending open defecation in the school. The project was commissioned on June 23, 2023.
Amuchie also initiated a Basic Education Project at the school, which included constructing a block of classrooms and a headteacher’s office.
Although the project was still underway at the end of his tenure, its impact resonated deeply with the local community.
“The joy and gratitude expressed by the Gidan Gimba community and the school’s pupils and staff remain one of the most fulfilling achievements of my Rotary presidency,” Amuchie shared with the panel.
Beyond his humanitarian work, Amuchie has made significant strides in media and professional development. His platform, Sundiata Post, launched in July 2015, received the Google News Initiative Journalism Emergency Relief Fund (JERF) Award in 2020.

In a letter of appreciation to GAU, Amuchie expressed his hope that the award would foster stronger collaborations between the university, Sundiata Post Media Ltd, and the Rotary Club of Abuja CBD.
“This recognition not only acknowledges my contributions but also inspires me to continue making a meaningful impact in society,” Amuchie stated.
