Gunmen sack Enugu police station, abduct female officer
A policewoman has been declared missing after gunmen attacked Umulokpa Police Division in the Uzo-Uwani local government area of Enugu State on Saturday.
Weapons from the armoury of the division were looted, CCTV equipment and operational vehicles were also destroyed in the attack.
Commissioner of Police Abubakar Lawal has already ordered the state Criminal Investigation Department, CID, to commence a full-scale investigation to locate the missing officer and arrest the perpetrators.
According to the statement by a spokesman of the Command, ASP Daniel Ndukwe, CP Lawal gave the order on Monday when he visited the scene of the incident.
“Meanwhile, the general public, particularly citizens of the State, have been enjoined to assist the Command with credible information and/or intelligence that will lead to the location of the said personnel and arrest of the assailants,” he said.
