Eating late at night is a habit that a lot of people practice on a regular basis. Some people become fond of this habit because of their work schedules while other just grew into the habit.

Although this is a bad habit that people should avoid. It kind of has some health benefits which experts have found it to have. There are also side effects that will show on a person that portrays this habit.

Well, I will be talking a lot bit about the health benefits and side effects of this habit.

Here are its health benefits

1. Better sleep

Some studies have found that people who eat late at night are more likely to have a good night sleep. Although this doesn’t work for everybody.

So according to studies, if it works for you, then engage in portraying the habit but if it doesn’t, don’t do it.

2. Stabilized morning blood sugar

Eating late at night has also been found to have another benefits and that is stabilized morning blood sugar levels. Although in some people , it has bene proven to cause some sleeping disturbance, so it doesn’t work for everybody.

Here are its side effects

1. It may lead to bad habits

Eating late at night is still thought to be a controversial topic as some people still think of it as a good habit. Some of it’s proven side effects is that it could lead to other bad habits such as eating while watching TV, which could lead to weight gain.

2. It is bad for people suffering from acid reflux.

Eating late at night is bad for people suffering from acid reflux especially before bed. It is best you eat the meal two to three hours before your bed time.
