How IIorin housewife makes N150k on social media
A housewife, Mrs Amina Shehu, has revealed making N150,000 monthly in the comfort of her matrimonial home, managing business pages on social media.
Shehu, a graduate of Mass Communication who resides in Ilorin, told the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) in a telephone interview on Monday that said she started working as a social media manager in 2020.
” After graduation, I applied for many jobs but couldn’t get any. Then I decided to learn a digital skill that would fetch me money while sitting at home.
“I paid for an online course on social media marketing and immediately after the course, I got my first client who offered to pay me N30,000 monthly to manage their business page “, she said.
She explained that she helped business owners generate traffic and get more visibility on their pages, which often resulted in increased sales.
According to her, social media contains many untapped job opportunities readily available for Nigerian youth, if only they would use it for such.
The entreprenuer, who mentioned that she is married with a child, said being a social media manager was the right job for sit-at-home mothers, as they would have enough time to take care of their families.
She urged the youth to go for digital skills and use social media to make money, rather than spread fake news and hate speeches amongst themselvesH
