How lady, four men were found with guns, 21 cartridges inside vehicle worth N12 million
The long arm of the law has caught up with five young people including a lady as men of the Rapid Response Squad (RRS) of the Lagos State Police Command arrested them while a locally-made pump action gun, a pistol and 21 cartridges were recovered from them, the RRS announced on Monday, November 22.
The five people, whose names were given as Ayomide Adeolu, aged 24 years; Quam Olanrewaju, aged 19 years; Oladele Giwa, aged 16; Basit Adams, aged 17 years and Ayinde Abibat, aged 20 years, were said to be heading to Langbasa after a rendezvous at Alpha Beach, Lekki area of Lagos at dawn.
According to reports, the four men and a lady were arrested at dawn on Saturday when operatives of Rapid Response Squad (RRS), acting on credible intelligence, intercepted a Toyota RAV4, 2018 model, with a customised number plate ‘TEPAOJE’ in Ajah, Lekki.
A 2018 Toyota Rav4 model which is foreign used popularly known as Tokunbo costs about N12 million.It was gathered that after stopping the vehicle and after interrogating the five persons, the officers thereafter searched the vehicle and recovered a locally made pump action gun, a pistol and 21 live cartridges inside.
According to a statement from the RRS and posted on the Facebook wall of the Squad on Monday, the five persons have made useful statements to the police while the driver of the vehicle was said to have disclosed how he acquired the 2018 model of Toyota RAV 4 which is valued at about N12 million.

It was also gathered that the five people had been transferred to the state Special Squad on the directive of the Commissioner of Police, Hakeem Odumosu, while they are expected to be prosecuted at the conclusion of investigation.
