Nigerian controversial journalist, Kemi Olunloyo, has taken to social media to air his opinion, following the demise of the Alaafin of Oyo, Oba Lamidi Adeyemi, as she disclosed that she bore witness to the day her father enthroned him as the Alaafin of the empire which was in November, 1970.
Recall that the Alaafin of Oyo empire, Oba Lamidi Adeyemi, was in the early hours of Saturday, reported dead by the Palace, following the Octagenarian Monarch’s battle with a brief illness on Friday night.
The 83-year-old Alaafin of Oyo empire reportedly gave up the ghost after he was admitted at the Afe Babalola University Teaching Hospital in Ado Ekiti, the Ekiti state capital.
However, following the demise of the Octagenarian Monarch, Nigerian investigative journalist, Kemi Olunloyo, took to her official Twitter account to pen down a farewell note for him, as she revealed that her heart is broken with regards to the unfortunate passing away of the Alaafin.
Kemi Olunloyo further disclosed that she watched her father crown Oba Lamidi Adeyemi on the 18th of November, 1970, after a long time battle of who will rule the empire.
The journalist finally prayed for the soul of Oba Lamidi Adeyemi to rest in peace using the hashtag, #RIPAlaafin.
