Ibadan communities to encounter blackout due to TCN maintenance
Some communities will suffer a blackout as a result of maintenance work on the TCN Jericho Transmission Substation on Tuesday.
This was made known by the Transmission Company Company, TCN, in a statement through its General Manager, Public Affairs, Ndidi Mbah, who disclosed that the maintenance crew will carry out annual preventive maintenance on its second 40MVA 132/33kV power transformer.
TCN explained that the maintenance exercise is expected to take seven hours and will commence from 10:00 am to 05:00 pm.
According to the statement, the maintenance work will affect the offtake of electricity to some areas in Ibadan.

“Consequently, Ibadan DisCo will not be able to offtake electricity to its customers in BASHORUN, SECRETARIAT, YEMETU, OREMEJI, AWOLOWO, ONIREKE, BANK ROAD and FAN-MILK today for the stated period.
“TCN assures that bulk power supply will be restored through the transformer on completion of the maintenance,” the statement reads.
