Heart failure arises when the heart can no longer pump blood as it should be. Analysis has shown that certain conditions, such as narrowed arteries in your heart (coronary artery disease) or high blood pressure, gradually leave your heart too weak or stiff to fill and pump efficiently. In this article, we shall be discussing three things you should stop consuming excessively to prevent heart failure.

Your diet plays a significant role in your risk of developing heart failure. Some foods can prevent heart disease why some can also increase your risk of developing heart failure when you consume them excessively. Some of them include.

Alcohol

Alcohol (ethanol or ethyl alcohol) is the ingredient found in beer, wine, and spirit that causes drunkenness. Long-term alcohol abuse weakens and thins the heart muscle, affecting its ability to pump blood. When your heart can’t pump blood efficiently, the lack of blood flow disrupts all your body’s major functions. This can lead to heart failure and other life-threatening health problems.

Sugar

Sugar is sweet and that is why several numbers of people are huge fans of it. However, when you eat more sugar than expected it can damage the heart and other most important organs in the body system. On the other hand, this can lead to a greater accumulation of fat, which may turn into fatty liver disease, a contributor to diabetes, which raises your risk for heart disease. Consuming too much added sugar can raise blood pressure and increase chronic inflammation, both of which are pathological pathways to heart disease.


Foods rich in highly processed grains

Foods that are abundant in processed grains are not favorable for your heart and illegal consumption of them can lead to heart failure. The refining process of these grains removes many nutrients, including fiber. Refined grains include white flour, white rice, and white bread. Many pieces of bread, cereals, crackers, desserts, and pastries are made with refined grains.

Long intake of refined grains is associated with a higher risk of heart disease and death in America and the world at large today. Too much intake of highly processed grains is linked to a higher risk of heart disease and death than whole (unrefined) grains according to analysis.
