Imo Assembly gets new Speaker
The Imo State House of Assembly on Monday appointed a new Speaker, Rt. Hon. Kennedy Ibeh, representing Obowo State Constituency.
Rt. Hon. Kennedy Ibeh was sworn in Monday at the House plenary after the impeachment of Speaker Paul Emeziem over gross misconduct and abuse of office.

Mr. Emeziem was impeached in a unanimous decision by 19 of the 27 members of the Hogue, who signed the Impeachment letter.
The former Deputy Speaker, Amara Iwuanyanwu, has been reinstated by the lawmakers. He was impeached last week by members of the House. The impeachment letter was read on the floor of the House by the reinstated deputy speaker, Amara Iwuanyanwu.
