Indian, 35, defrauds Nigerian company of N500m, flees
Ayan Asit Chakraborty, an Indian working in Nigeria, has been declared wanted by the Nigrian police
A Gazette Bulletin with Ref No AR: 3000/ZN.2/MTU/TMI Vol. 2/141 announced that the Magistrates’ Court had issued a warrant of arrest in Lagos.
He is expected to turn himself in at the office of the Assistant Inspector General of Police, Zone 2 Command in Onikan.
Ayan, an accountant, allegedly stole N500m from a Nigerian firm Shash Industries Ltd., between 2017 till July 2022.
He made fraudulent transfers to his various personal accounts for personal benefits.
The police description also said the 35-year-old has curly hair, large head, low forehead, smokes and drinks, dresses in corporate/casual, and frequently visits clubs and bars.
“If seen, arrest and hand over to the nearest police station or to the office of the Assistant Inspector General of Police, Zone-2 Command Onikan Lagos 07030308813”, the notice added.
