INEC Chairman holds meeting with Chairmen of political parties
The Chairman of the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC), Prof. Mahmood Yakubu, is presently holding meeting with chairmen and members of National Working Committee (NWC) of political parties on issues relating to the 2023 general elections. The INEC chairman, National Daily gathered, convened the meeting to brief the party leaders on the update of the preparations for the elections, as well as caution against electoral violence during the elections.
The INEC at the meeting holding at the INEC Conference Room, Abuja, appealed to leaders of the parties to send only accredited party agents, who he said will be the only party representatives the commission will allow into the polling units, adding that only agents who have INEC ID cards would be admitted to the polling units.
Prof. Yakubu further to the party leaders to call their candidates and supporters to order after the recent violent attacks at some campaign venues across the country.
