Insecurity: Southeast Govs set to establish ‘Ebube Agu’ December 2021
Governors of the five states in the southeast under the umbrella of Southeast Governors Forum, on Tuesday revealed their readiness to establish the regional security structure – ‘Ebube Agu’ – in all the states in the region in or before December 2021.
The southeast governors at their meeting at the Government House, Enugu, Enugu State, on Tuesday made resolutions on eight-point agenda. It was indicated in the communique that, “the meeting agreed that the southeast Ebube Agu security outfit be launched in all the southeast states and laws passed in various southeast states before the end of 2021.”
The governor had agreed to the establishment of Ebube Agu in April 2021 while the formal structures are yet to be put in place.
