‘It is a crime for Plateau to be governed by APC’ – guber aspirant says
By Kingsley Chukwuka
A former Local Government Chairman in Plateau State, Hon. Caleb Mutfwang has said it is a crime for the State to be govern by the All Progressive Congress (APC), vowing to return it back to the People’s Democratic Party (PDP).
Mutfwang, who was a Council boss in Mangu LGA, under the former governor Jonah Jang, said the task of reclaiming power from the APC can only be trusted by him.
“I am the only candidate for the Plateau PDP aspiring to make a difference because I am a party man”, he said.
Declaring his intention to run for the office of the governor on Wednesday, at the Party Secretariat in Jos, Mutfwang said: “I am well known to you because I am a party man, we have fought many battles together for the preservation of this party. I have committed myself to ensuring that the PDP survive on the Plateau and by the grace of God it will.
“I have come to offer myself as a leader that will not only unite the PDP but will also unite the people of Plateau State. I am desirous to see every part of Plateau in peace”, he said.
He Continued: “There has been no progress in Plateau State since 2015, the APC promised making a Naira to a Dollar but today, getting petrol is a problem, there is no law and order in the country, there is no government.
“No one sleeps with his two eyes closed due to insecurity. The time is now for us to use our voters’ cards to change the useless change or we all become useless.
“APC is a business partnership between Buhari and Tinubu, the only democratic thing they did is hosting a convention that produced Buhari. The job of chasing APC out of government is a task that must be done. The PDP can only do that by being united; if we don’t kill APC, APC will kill democracy.
“I offer myself to be considered and be given the PDP ticket to chase out APC in 2023. If you do that, I will not disappoint your trust”, he said.
Mutfwang also expressed displeasure over the ravaging insecurity situation in most parts of the State, assuring that if given the mandate, he will provide leadership where every parts of the State will be secured.
“I will provide leadership that will reclaim all the boundaries of Plateau and make sure that the people live in peace. I will make sure that all the economic, cultural and environmental potentials that are embedded in this State is unleashed”, he added.
Responding, the State Party Chairman, Hon. Chris Hassan said the party will provide a level playing ground for all the 20 governorship aspirants who have purchased nomination forms to contest under the PDP.
Hassan applauded Mutfwang for standing strong behind the party to right the wrongs during it’s trying moments.
