It’s not on my part, I’m waiting for Wike, others for reconciliation – Atiku
The presidential candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) for the 2023 general elections, former Vice President Atiku Abubakar, in a media interaction, revealed the efforts and personal commitments he has made to reconcile with Governor Nyesom Wike of Rivers State, and other Peoples Democratic party (PDP) governors, so as to unite the PDP towards the 2023 general elections. Atiku said he had personally met with Wike six times both in Abuja and port Harcourt, Rivers State, for dialogue, but the protesting the PDP governors still hold on to their guns.
The other governors include Samuel Ortom of Benue State, Ifeanyi Ugwuanyi of Enugu State, Okezie Ikpeazu of Abia State and Seyi Makinde of Oyo State. Atiku was cited to have declared in the media interaction: “I have met Wike two times in Port Harcourt, two times in Abuja, one time in London, personally.
“It is not on my part; it is on the other side; I am waiting for him.”
The PDP presidential candidate maintained that he is ready for reconciliation, noting that as soon as the protesting governors indicate willingness, he is prepared to engage them on the way forward for the PDP.
