Jandor reveals why he chose Funke Akindele as running mate
The Governorship candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in Lagos State, Olajide Adediran, popularly known as Jandor, has revealed why he chose Funke Akindele as his running mate.
There had been speculations that Jandor did not consult stakeholders and some governors in the party before choosing the actress as his running mate.
Jandor while speaking on the alleged crisis in the party said he presented Akindele to all the party leaders before she was unveiled to the public.
He further stated that in his decision to pick Akindele as his running mate he exercised his constitutional right.
Jandor, while speaking on the report that he did not consult elders in the party in an interview with Daily Independent, said, “I exercised my constitutional right in picking Funke Akindele and I presented her to all leaders of party before unveiling her publicly.”
The PDP Governor also debunked the claim that he lied to PDP governors about the strength of his followership in Lagos State.
Jandor had joined PDP in January 2022 from the ruling APC after falling out with the party’s leadership.
Speaking on the allegation he said, “I am sure you covered the event of our crossing over to the PDP and you can tell what you saw there
“We have 151,000 members in Lagos4Lagos and we were only able to mobilise 40,000 to TBS for logistic reasons.”
