Just in: Army rescue abducted female officer, capture gunmen
Gunmen who reportedly kidnapped, stripped naked and tortured a female Soldier Lt. P. P Johnson have been captured, and the soldier rescued.
Johnson had travelled to her hometown for Christmas in the South-Eastern part of Nigeria.
She was reportedly molested, before the gunmen threatened to behead her for being a member of the Nigerian Military.
In a viral video, the gunmen tied her hands and feet and stripped her naked and threatened to sacrifice her to their deity.
The Nigerian Army is yet to make official comments on the latest development.
The South-East region has witnessed increasing attacks on security agents, government facilities and prominent individuals following the arrest of Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB) leader, Nnamdi Kanu.
Although IPOB has denied culpability for the spate of attacks and killings in the geopolitical zone, security agencies have blamed the atrocities on the separatist group.
