Justice slams Tarfa with fine after withdrawing suit against Falana, others
Justice Mohammed Idris Wednesady fined senior lawyer Rickey Tarfa N50,000 for withdrawing his N5 billion suit against the EFCC, its chairman, MTN, Femi Falana, and Rashidatou Abdou.
Tarfa had alleged the violation of his fundamental rights by the five. The EFCC arrested him on February 5 on the premises of the Lagos State High Court in Igbosere, where he allegedly hid two suspects in his car to prevent their arrest.
His two mobile phones and his Mercedez Benz SUV with Registration No. KJA 700 CG, were confiscated by the EFCC.

The EFCC later arraigned and charged Tarfa, a Senior Advocate of Nigeria, with obstructing justice and attempting to corrupt a judge, Justice M. Yunusa, before whom the lawyer had a case, by bribing him with N225,000, and having phone conversation with the judge.
According to Tarfa, the telecom operator and the commission also violated his right to privacy by allegedly providing and scrutinising his call logs without a court order.
The N50,000 fine will be awarded as compensation to the five defendants in the fundamental rights violation case,
