Kano Assembly confirms commissioner nominee, Umaru

The Kano State House of Assembly has confirmed retired AVM Ibrahim Umaru as Commissioner and member of the State Executive Council.
Umaru, who previously served as the Director-General, Special Services, Government House, expressed gratitude to the lawmakers during plenary for his confirmation.
Umaru emphasised the need for renewed commitment to improving and upholding security across the state.
He thanked the Assembly for the confidence reposed in him and pledged to discharge his duties diligently in service to the state.
Earlier, the Speaker of the House, Alhaji Jibril Falgore, urged Umaru to build on his solid track record and wished him success in his new role.
The lawmakers unanimously approved Umaru’s nomination, commending his extensive experience in security-related matters.
Falgore reiterated the Assembly’s confidence in the nominee and urged him to remain steadfast in promoting peace and stability in the state.
He also restated the Assembly’s commitment to working with the Executive to fast-track development for the benefit of the people of Kano.
