Kogi PDP endorses Deji Adeyanju for Oliseh Metuh’s job
The leadership of PDP in Kogi state says it has resolved by consensus to support the candidature of Deji Adeyanju, for the post of the national publicity secretary of the PDP thereby dismissing reports that it has endorsed Bar. Kabiru Usman for the same post.
PDP in the state led by immediate past governor, Idris Wada, Sen.Tunde Ogbeha, Prince Olusola Akonmode, Prof. Jegede and a host of others said there was no time that they sat down with Bar Kabiru or anyone else to carry out any endorsement because he is not even qualified to run for any office of the party at the forth coming convention. According to them, this is because of the convention proclamation at the Port Harcourt convention where the caretaker was constituted and all members of the committee were barred from contesting for any position at the proposed convention.
The leaders further added that; “even the convention planning committee at its inaugural meeting in Port-Harcourt which was chaired by the Rivers state governor, Nyesom Wike had made it categorically clear that no member of the caretaker committee would be allowed to contest and as such, there was no way we could have gone against the Convention Decision that barred people like Kabiru from contesting.”

“So as loyal party leaders, it is unimaginable for us to encourage such a lawless ambition. They called upon the general public to discountenance such statement from anyone parading themselves as leaders of the state.”
Kogi PDP said Deji Adeyanju who is the current director of New Media of the party “has done a fantastic job of defending the party since the defeat at the general elections last year and he is a courageous young man. Deji has been committed to the party and therefore they cannot abandon him now.”
Recall that Barister Kabir Usman had resigned his membership of the committee to contest for the national publicity secretary of the party with a group within the state PDP endorsing him for the position.
