Lagos Police charge 60-year-old man for drugging, raping 24-year-old woman
The Lagos State Police Command has arraigned a 60-year-old man, Ajayi Femi, on charges of rape after allegedly drugging and sexually assaulting a 24-year-old woman.
According to a statement issued by the Police Public Relations Officer, CSP Benjamin Hundeyin, the case was first reported on August 22, 2025, by the victim’s sister at the Meiran Police Station before it was transferred to the Command’s Gender Unit for further investigation.
Investigators revealed that the suspect spiked the survivor’s drink, leaving her unconscious, before unlawfully engaging in sexual intercourse with her without consent. Medical examinations conducted during the investigation corroborated the survivor’s account, while the suspect reportedly made a confessional statement.
