The Lagos State Government through the Lagos Safety Commission and the Rapid Response Squad has sealed Havilah Event Centre, Oniru, after petrol was shared as souvenir at a party.
The event centre was sealed following the order of the Lagos Commissioner of Police.
Kegs of petrol were shared as souvenirs at the event centre during the installation ceremony of Chief Dr Pearl Chindinma Ogbulu as Erelu Okin of Orile Kemta by Oba Adetokunbo Tejuoso on March 4, 2022 in Oniru Lagos.

According to the state government, the Havilah event centre contravened public safety rules and jeopardised the lives and property of residents.
The Lagos government had earlier said it would probe the videos posted on social media that showed petrol handed out as souvenirs.
“The attention of the Lagos State Government has been drawn to a video showing kegs of petrol being handed out as souvenirs at an event Centre in Lagos. The video has gone viral on social media, said Gbenga Omotoso, the Lagos commissioner of information and strategy.
“There is no doubt that this action is dangerous and can lead to loss of lives and property. It is blatantly against all safety measures in such places.
“The Lagos State Government through the Safety Commission is investigating this matter and will ensure that all parties to this reprehensible action are made to account for it.
“The safety of lives and properties of Lagosians and visitors remain a top priority to the Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu administration. We, therefore, advise that actions that can lead to loss of lives and properties be avoided.
