Plateau Governor Simon Lalong has revealed the Christian Association of Nigeria in his state welcome him after he accepted the of to lead the APC Muslim-Muslim ticket campaign for party’s presidential flagbearer Bola Tinubu
Christian leaders and cacauses in the APC across the north have been angry since Tinubu picked Borno ex-Gov Kashim Shettima as his running mate.
Bolstered up by Babchir Lawal who chaired the party committee that chose Shettima, the Christian members have been campaigning against the party candidate, urging Lalong, too, to reject the offer.
But Lalong told newsman at the Villa on Wednesday that being a Knight of the Catholic church, he respects his own religion, and he is not a leader of just one faith.
According to him, since he accepted the offer to market two Muslims, Pope Francis has not told him he did something wrong, adding he’s not sure where the Christian leaders crying foul come from.
The chairman of the Northern Governors Forum said he was at Aso Rock to thank President Muhammadu Buhari for releasing Plateau ex-Gov Joshua Dariye.
