LG chairman escapes from kidnappers in Kogi
In a dramatic turn of events, Mr. Zacchaeus Dare-Michael, the chairman of the caretaker committee in Kabba/Bunu Local Government Area of Kogi State, has successfully escaped from his kidnappers.
Dare-Michael was abducted along with several aides by armed assailants on Friday while traveling on the Kaba-Okene road.

Kogi State Police Command spokesman, Williams Ovye-Aya, confirmed the news to journalists in Lokoja on Saturday.
“I can confirm that the chairman managed to escape from his captors in the early hours of Saturday,” Ovye-Aya stated.
“Our Divisional Police Officer in Kabba has verified this information. It is indeed a blessing that the chairman has returned to his family safe and sound.”
The police have since launched a manhunt for the kidnappers, with ongoing efforts to apprehend them and rescue any remaining victims.
