List of APC states that are still factionalized as 26th february draws closer

As the All Progressives Congress national convention draws closer, it will interest you to note that a series of internal crises have continued to bedevil the party. There is much fear that if these crises are not resolved before 26th February, it could lead to the party losing power in 2023. Below are list of some state of the All Progressive Congress, APC that are divided into factions:

1. Rivers State

The Rivers State is factions led by the Minister of Transportation, Rotimi Amaechi and Senator Magnus Abe elected different executive councils. It will interest you to note that while Abe’s faction has as its chairman, a former member of the state House of Assembly, Golden Chioma, the Amaechi faction elected Emeka Beke as chairman.

2. Kwara State

In Kwara State, the party is divided into factions led by Governor AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq and the Minister of Information and Culture, Lai Mohammed.3. Ekiti State

Chairman of the APC in Ekiti State, Paul Omotoso, and the state chairman, South West Agenda for Asiwaju 2023, a pro-Bola Tinubu group, Senator Tony Adeniyi, had disagreed over the suit filed by aggrieved party members challenging the conduct of ward congresses in the state.

4. Kano State

In Kano State, two factions exist; the Governor Abdullahi Umar Ganduje and Senator Ibrahim Shekarau/Senator Jibrin Barau camps.

5. Zamfara State

Three factions are in existence in Zamfara State, Governor Bello Matawalle, former governor of the state, Abdulaziz Yari, and Senator Kabiru Marafa’s camps.

6. Gombe State

In Gombe, the fortune of the party is being threatened by the feud between Governor Inuwa Yahaya and Senator Danjuma Goje.

7. Delta State

The situation in Delta is not different as the state chapter of the APC has been embroiled in a leadership crisis with different factions arising from the camps of Ovie Omo-Agege, the Deputy Senate President, and Festus Keyamo, Minister of State for Labour and Employment.

8. Ogun State

The party is also factionalized in Ogun State, with some members loyal to Governor Dapo Abiodun and others loyal to a former governor of the state, Senator Ibikunle Amosun.

9. Osun State

In Osun State, factions loyal to Governor Gboyega Oyetola and the Minister of Interior, Rauf Aregbesola, produced parallel state executive.

10. Sokoto State

The crisis rocking the All Progressive Congress (APC) in Sokoto State has taken a new twist as nothing less than 3 factions are claiming ownership of the party. The 3 factions consist of the one loyal to the immediate past governor of the state and current Senator representing Sokoto South Senatorial District, Aliyu Magatakarda Wamakko, another for former Senator Isa Abubakar Gada as well as former acting governor of the state while the third favors the current House of Representative member, Honourable Balarabe Salame in conjunction with the incumbent speaker of the state house of assembly.
