Man. City beat PSG 2-1 in Champions League semi-final first leg in Paris
Manchester City of England on Wednesday defeated Paris Saint-Germain of France in Paris 2-1 in the first leg of the Champions League semifinal match. The English team were 1-0 down in the first half but recovered strongly in the second half to defeat PSG 2-1 in their away game in France.
PSG scored their only goal through Marquinhos’ header to maintain half-time lead. However, Manchester City dominated the second half, leading to goals from Kevin De Bruyne and Riyad Mahrez to turn the game against PSG towards seeing them off the final of this year’s European Champions League.
PSG played one man down after midfielder Idrissa Gana Gueye was sent off in the later part of the game. PSG, however, struggled to prevent conceding a third to minimize their chances of totally losing out of the competition, and have the hope of turning the table round in their second leg match next Tuesday in Manchester, England.
Chelsea of England had in their first leg match with Real Madrid in Spain played 1-1, having what many football followers called ‘a golden one goal away’ advantage. Chelsea will be playing Real Madrid in England for the second leg of the semifinal of the competition next week.
