A Customary Court sitting in Nyanya, Abuja, heard a man identified as Abor Egwu give narrate how his wife has turned his matrimonial bed to a brothel with her lovers.
The businessman said the wife had cashed in on the opportunity of been away during business trips to bring her lover into their matrimonial home.
Responding to a divorce petition brought before the court by his wife, Gift Erima, he said a neighbour was always updating him about her illicit love extravaganza with her lover.
“Wehenever I leave home, my wife brings her man friend into our house. I did not want to believe that, because it is not always wise to act based on hearsay in issues of this nature.
“I just disregarded it, and termed it gossip. I got to know the truth when I found out myself,” he added.
Expressing disappointment that he couldn’t confront the man because of his afgluence, Egwu explained, “The man has a lot of money, cars, in fact he is very rich,” he said.
National Daily learnt that when the man discovered the love affairs, he sent his wife to the village to stay. “I later heard that my wife took that same man to her parents and introduced him as the man she wants to marry.’’
He told the court to grant his wife’s request and dissolve the marriage, as he was already fed up but appealed to the court not to grant the his wife the custody of their children.
“I don’t want another man to raise my children,” Egwu appealed.
Erima who was present in court, denied all the allegations. She explained that the husband was lying adding that since he married her, he has not been taking care of me and the children.
Erima begged the court not to grant her husband custody of the children of the marriage.
The judge, Mr Jemilu Jega, advised the couple to reconcile and adjourned the case until June 22, for report of settlement or hearing.
