Married man bags life imprisonment for raping a 4yrs old girl
A High Court sitting in Akwa Ibom State has sentenced a 32-year-old married man, Akaninyene Sunday Ekwere, to life imprisonment for raping a 4-year-old girl in Ikot Ibritam, Oruk Anam LGA of the state.
Justice Nkereuwem Obot convicted and sentenced Ekwere after he pleaded guilty to raping minor, who’s his neighbor’s daughter, on Tuesday, February 6, 2024.
The trader reportedly lured the minor to his shop where he defiled her, the court heard.
According to the convict, he saw the minor playing outside the compound and invited her to his shop, where he rubbed vaseline oil on her private part and raped her.
In his judgment, Justice Obot held that Ekwere does not deserve to live in the midst of sane people as he is d@ngerous to the society, and therefore sentenced him to life imprisonment.
