Most bizarre way Taliban celebrates US pullout of Afghanistan
No sooner than the US completed its pullout of Afghanistan punctuated with a disaster, the Taliban that over-ran the Afghan government the US put in place stages a funeral ceremony.
All over the streets are Taliban supporters carrying coffins draped with stars spangled flags, the UK’s and those of the allied NATO forces that occupied Afghanistan for 20 years.
The extremist Islamist group has been in celebration mood since late August when Kabul finally fell to them and President Ashraf Ghani took wing, and flew to the UAE.
What even called for more celebration, as the National Daily reported, is the $85bn arsenal the US and coalition forces left for the Afghan military which is no more now.
The Taliban government, unpopular before, has however gained recognition from China, Russia, Turkey, and others.
The US has also contemplated recognizing it if it behave–by respecting women rights and refusing to shelter terrorists.
