NADDC raises alarm over fraudsters impersonating Director-General
The National Automotive Design and Development Council (NADDC) has warned members of the public against fraudsters impersonating its Director-General, Otunba Joseph Osanipin, using his name and photographs taken at official events to deceive unsuspecting Nigerians.
In a public notice, the Council disclosed that the impostors were contacting potential victims through social media platforms and telephone calls in an attempt to defraud them.
NADDC stressed that the individuals behind the approaches were not authorised to represent the Director-General or act on behalf of the Council, warning the public not to be misled by the use of official-looking photographs.

The Council identified 09169880958 as one of the telephone numbers allegedly being used by an impostor to contact members of the public.
It urged Nigerians to disregard any suspicious messages, calls or requests from the individuals involved and avoid engaging with them.
The Council also disclosed that formal complaints had been lodged with the appropriate law enforcement agencies for investigation and necessary action.
To prevent falling victim to the scam, NADDC advised members of the public to communicate with the Council and its Director-General only through verified official social media handles and recognised communication channels.
It emphasised that the use of the Director-General’s name or photographs does not authenticate any communication, urging Nigerians to verify suspicious approaches before responding or making any financial commitments.
