Northern leaders hold 2-day Round Table on insecurity
Northern leaders have convened a two-day Round Table on insecurity in northern Nigeria.
The Round Table was convened for comprehensive and technical discussion on the multifaceted security challenges that have beleaguered the region, with a view to identifying the appropriate solutions alongside security specialists, policymakers, and political leaders.

Former President of the Senate, Dr. Bukola Saraki, in a statement disclosed the conclusion of the inaugural session of the two-day Roundtable, pointing out the expectations.

“We have just wrapped up the inaugural session of the Two-Day Roundtable on Insecurity in Northern Nigeria organized by The Coalition of Northern Groups.

“At the first session, we embarked on a comprehensive and technical discussion on the multifaceted security challenges that have beleaguered our region, with a view to identifying the appropriate solutions alongside security specialists, policymakers, and political leaders.
“As we prepare for the second session of the day, delving deep into the root causes and intricate dynamics of this crisis, it is my hope that the actionable and sustainable solutions that will be provided from this roundtable will be implemented to ensure the enduring peace and stability of the north and the entire nation.”
In attendance were former Head of State, General Abdusalami Abubakar; Vice President Kashim Shettima; the Minister of State for Defence, Dr Muhammed Bello Matawalle; the Minister of Defence, Mohammed Badaru Abubakar; former INEC Chairman, Prof Attahiru Jega; the Sultan of Sokoto, His Eminence, Alhaji Sa’ad Abubakar; including Audu Ogbe, other traditional rulers, Northern governors, northern lawmakers, and other stakeholders.
