Police operatives from Ogun State Command have arrested a notorious cultist and armed robbers who has been terrorising resident of Mower and environs.

According to spokesman of the command, DSP Abimbola Oyeyemi, the notorious cultist, Christian Peter was had been on the wanted list of the Police was arrested on Tuesday in Mowe.

He said the suspect was arrested when the Divisional Police Officer (DPO) of Mowe Police Division, CSP Folashade Tanaruno was on routine patrol with the Divisional anti-robbery team when sighted him in the premises of an hotel at Olororo area of Mowe with a waist bag.

“On sighting the policemen, the suspect made an attempt to escape but was quickly obstructed and apprehended.

“The waist bag in his possession was searched immediately, and a locally made double barrel pistol loaded with four live cartridges was recovered there in.

“He is one the hoodlums terrorizing Mowe/Ofada axis in recent time,” he added.

Meanwhile, the commissioner of police, CP Lanre Bankole, has ordered the immediate transfer of the suspect to state criminal investigation and intelligence department for discreet investigation.
