Oblak earns Atletico 100th clean sheets in 178th appearance
His 100th clean sheet may have been one of his easiest, but that makes it no less impressive that Jan Oblak has needed just 178 Atletico Madrid appearances to reach this centenary mark.
The 2-0 victory over Borussia Dortmund saw the Slovenian move onto triple figures in the clean sheets category, further adding to his legendary status at the Estadio Wanda Metropolitano.
His first shut-out came in the Copa del Rey against L’Hospitalet on December 3, 2014, with 99 more following.
Of those 100, 59 have been earned at home and 41 away, a good balance.
Impressively, he has only let in 114 total goals, because it’s usually only one goal conceded when he doesn’t keep a clean sheet.
With just 0.64 goals conceded per game, Oblak and the Atletico defence have come to be considered among the very best in all of football.
