Ogun: APM kicks as INEC announces results
The Allied Peoples Movement has rejected the ongoing election results being announced by the Independent National Electoral Commission.
The APM Campaign Director General said this on Sunday at the party’s secretariat at Leme, Abeokuta.
The APM had petitioned INEC in the state to investigate the “infractions” and stop announcement of results forthwith.
Despite the complaints, the INEC has started announcing the results.
“The people of Ogun state has been raped,” Akinlade declared, saying hey will seek all legal means to “undo the injustice.”
The APM is a splinter of the APC under the leadership of the state governor, Ibikunle Amosun.
The ruling party tottered into crisis during the primaries held last year when Amosun’s candidate Abdulkadri Akinlade was rejected by a faction of the party whose candidate Dapo Abiodun was given the guber ticket.
