The Ogun State Police Command has arrested and arraigned a 45-year-old woman, Adeoye Taiwo, for allegedly pouring hot water on a 13-year-old girl, causing severe burns in the Odomogun area of Ijebu Imusin, Ogun State.
The victim, identified as Adeoye Modinat, is reportedly the daughter of the suspect’s twin sister and had been living under her care before the incident.
According to reports, the suspect allegedly accused the teenager of inappropriate behaviour involving men and subsequently instructed her own daughter to boil water, which she then poured on the victim, leaving her with serious injuries.
The incident, which occurred on April 13, 2026, at about 3:30 p.m., was reported to the police, prompting a swift response from officers attached to the Ijebu Imusin Division. The victim was immediately rescued from the scene and rushed to a medical facility, where she is currently receiving treatment.
